WORSHIP SERVICE

Before Service, Sunday Morning
Before the Service, Sunday Morning

We meet at 10:30 on Sunday mornings for what is usually a conventional Unitarian service: chalice lighting, announcements, readings, meditation, collection and sermon -- interspersed with hymns and, sometimes, special music. Immediately afterward, we adjourn for conversation, lemonade, coffee, cookies and such.

FORUM

For most of the year, some of us meet to discuss some previously announced topic at 9:00 on Sunday mornings. A volunteer ordinarily presents the subject matter, with or without personal bias, and a period of lively questions and discussion follows.

YRUU

YRUU is the acronym for Young Religous Unitarian Universalists. It is open to youth ages 14-20. There are no dues and no formal affiliation process. Church membership is not a requirement. It is a service organization and includes involvement at the local, regional, district-wide and continental levels. The goals of YRUU are to promote youth empowerment and enhance communication between youth and adults. The YRUU purposes are to "foster spiritual depth, create a peaceful community on earth and peace within us, manifest a greater understanding of UUism, nurture the freedom and integrity of the questioning mind, embrace all persons with diverse backgrounds and support each other with educational resources, a communication network and with love." YRUU is youth led. The trained adult advisors are there for support and guidance as needed.

Our local group meets weekly. Call the church office for days and times.

Creative U Summer Arts Camp:

Come spend a week with local artists and staff exploring a creative approach to life. Program and projects emphasize process rather than product. Thematic week culminates in an evening Galleria for friends and family.

Late-night Coffeehouse Fellowship:

Part social, part small group ministry. Join other young adults, ages 16-30, in sharing poetry, music and other talents or just come to listen and socialize.
